While all of the universal laws provide guidance in creating our best life, the Law of Dharma or Purpose is certainly one that speaks to what I like to help my clients and community with. More and more, people are waking up to the inner urging for their lives to have more purpose and impact. They want to connect with what is joyful and deeply meaningful to them while offering their highest contribution to the world. That was certainly my experience.
The Law of Dharma, or Purpose says that we are spiritual beings who have taken physical form to fulfill a purpose. Everyone has a purpose in life — a unique gift or special talent that brings them joy and in some way makes a contribution to people, animals or the earth. When we blend this unique talent with service we are expressing our soul’s highest vision and purpose for this life. It feels exhilarating! Even if you are doing the same thing as someone else, you are doing it in your own unique way that only you can express.
Purpose is about more than finding work we love. It’s about who we are, 24/7. It’s about our highest vision for this lifetime and the shift in consciousness that allows us to connect with it. When we are engaged in doing what we love and in fulfilling our contribution to something greater than ourselves, we loose track of time. We feel fully present, engaged and happy.
To tune in to The Law of Purpose, here are some suggestions:
* Make a list of the things you feel are natural talents and abilities
* Make a list of the things you love to do while expressing the talents you’ve identified. What makes your heart sing and causes you to loose track of time?
* Ask: What is the highest vision for my life? Sit with this while you are in a relaxed state. Allow an answer to come. It may be simpler than you think.
* Ask: How may I best serve? Remember that your service will utilize your talents, abilities and be joyful to you.
How you express your purpose throughout your life may change, so continue to ask yourself these questions and be aware of how you are feeling. If you start to feel bored or unhappy where you are it may be time to reassess what you are doing.
While challenges will still show up in your life when you are “on purpose”, when you are in the higher flow you will move through them with more grace and ease. The challenges are there to teach what we need to know and strengthen our resolve.
Expressing the Law of Gratitude also helps us move through challenging situations. This is simply about noticing what you already have to feel grateful for and putting your attention there. Even if times are difficult there is always something you can find to appreciate. What can you find to be grateful for in your loved ones? In others you meet as you go about your day? It may be a quality you enjoy about them or a lesson they help you learn. Often the people who are the most difficult are the ones who help us the most. The Law of Gratitude asks us to be grateful for EVERYTHING in our lives, because everything is for us in some way.
