This month I’m sharing a personal journey with manifesting because the experience really deepened my own knowing. Coaches, like everyone else, are not “done”. We are still growing and expanding–thankfully!

Last September I set an intention for something that felt very big to me. It was something that I really didn’t know how to bring about. I intended that it would work out for the highest good for me, the universe and everyone concerned. I did this in my Intenders Circle so I had the agreement of people who I knew would support me energetically. I wrote it down and I even posted it in an online group of people supporting each others’ intentions, projects, etc. and got a lot of great responses! I had the power of the group with me!

I did everything right. I teach this stuff, after all. I’ve manifested many wonderful things in my life. So, I waited. Nothing. OK, I believe in perfect timing, no problem. I waited, basking in the feeling of it already done, knowing that I needed to be easy about it! Months went by and still nothing. I started to feel like I had failed or wasn’t being heard for some reason. What was up with this, anyway? What more did I need to do? This thing was really important to me! I realized I needed to let go of any “neediness” that I had around this subject. I did processes to get myself into alignment with whatever outcome happened and to trust in the perfect timing of my soul. That felt good. I knew there were quite a few steps necessary and I could be patient. Still nothing, and I was OK with that. I only gave it occasional thought.

Then, in the spring, seven months after setting the intention, I felt inspired to take an action, which was simply making a phone call to a person whose number I’d had for a long time. It hadn’t felt right to call before, but it did now. That action started the ball rolling very quickly in directions I had not anticipated or even known about. Woo Hoo! Suddenly I was attracting fabulous people to me that were helping me through the steps I needed to take to bring my intention to fruition!! All was going well for about three months when the deal just fell through. “What?” I thought. I had set my intention, finally things were heading in the right direction, so what was this all about? I freaked for a short while. Yes, I’m a coach, but I’m human, too! Fortunately, I do have a lot of resources and knowledge at my disposal, so I didn’t stay in “freak-out mode” for long. About twenty minutes, actually, but I really let myself “be” with that feeling! What I remembered was that we are meant to ask for help and I hadn’t done that very specifically. So, I sat down and called on my “team” of guides and angelic helpers and let them know I just didn’t know what to do. I needed to find a way out but I didn’t know what that was and I needed their help. I thanked them in advance and felt their loving presence. The very next day I received a call that offered a solution that was even better than the one I had been working on! The timing had not been right for it before, but it was now! Would the call have come anyway, even if I hadn’t asked for help? Possibly. But we have to be in an emotional and mental place to allow in what we want. We are creating our reality in each moment.

So, here is what I’ve “fine-tuned” for myself:

1.  Acknowledge your feelings–they are not good or bad, they are a part of you. They are there to get your attention and if you acknowledge and allow the ones you find less comfortable, they dissipate more quickly.  What comes up for you is what you are moving out of your energy field, if you allow it.

2.  Have faith and be patient. While it is as easy to create a castle as a button, the castle can take more steps; more parts need to come together. It can be quick, but if it isn’t it doesn’t mean you have failed to create. Remember that there are forces working on your behalf that you know nothing about and they start gathering the component parts of your vision as soon as you clearly ask for what you want. Be grateful for that. It is 99.9% done before you see the manifestation. There really is perfect timing and we can’t always see what that is. In hindsight, we can see why events unfolded as they did. So, again, have faith that it is all working out for your highest good.

3.  ASK for help. Both from physical people and from your team of guides and angels. Yes, they are there–they are around you, but they won’t interfere unless you ask. Ask for help in easing your feelings and ask for very specific help. In her book, Hiring the Heavens: a Practical Guide to Developing Working Relationships with the Spirits of Creation, Jean Slatter, tells us that angels and guides have very specific tasks. So, you can “hire” your team of financial angels, healing angels, mechanical and tech angels, angels that find lost items, etc. I sat down and had a “committee meeting” with my team and the next day is when it all broke loose. Whatever it is you need help with there are angels who are waiting to help you with it. It is their joy to do so. Then act on whatever inspiration or opportunity shows up! Their payment? Your gratitude and follow through.

4. When things feel really big it can be good because you have a lot of energy going through you, but that can also mean your resistance is high too. Be aware of that and soothe your energy to allow what you want.

5. When something seems to fail right before you get it, don’t panic. It doesn’t mean YOU’VE failed. It means something better is right around the corner for you, so go on with a grateful heart. So often we think we’ve mis-created, when in fact we are right on track. Fortunately I knew that seeming failure was just that–an opportunity to experience what I didn’t want so I could be very clear on what I did want. (Law of Polarity) And I knew to ask for help when I couldn’t see my way clear.

6. This life is all about having experiences to grow from, experience more joy and for the soul to know itself from many perspectives. That’s all.  From the soul’s point of view this is fun! So join in and remember you are the powerful creator of your reality.
