On a day to day level, a positive mindset will make each day seem more pleasant and fulfilling than a day filled with negativity and pessimism.

The three simple things each one of us can do to keep (or develop) a positive mindset are discussed below.

Surround yourself with positive people

No matter how much we think of ourselves as individual people who value our own opinions most, whether we like it or not, opinions of other people still have great value in forming our thoughts and opinions.

To judge a man, let me meet his closest friends.  If you surround yourself with negative people that drain your energy, sooner or later you will become negative and draining yourself.

It is better to gradually drop friends like that, as hard as that may be. Or, if you feel altruistic, try and bring them to your spiritual level, thought in practice it proves to be harder than it looks, as no one can be forcibly “leveled up” before they are ready for it.

Instead, seek out and spend more time with people who are positive, people you want to be more like in terms of career, riches, their values or views of the world, who have habits you want, and so on.

Eat healthy food and exercise regularly

This is greatly overlooked by many. Eating healthy food gives tremendous amount of energy. Food is supposed to energize us, not bring us down. If you feel like you need rest after a meal, you either had more than you needed, or you had the wrong type of food.

Exercising is also crucial to a positive mindset. Healthy body equals a healthy mind. One can go without the other, but only for a limited amount of time. You can surely take 30 minutes to an hour each day to at least have a power walk, drive a bicycle or hit the gym. Your whole life will be better as a result.

Try eating healthy and exercising for 30 days, and if you come back with a negative experience, well you’ll be the first.

Harness the power of the subconscious mind

Utilizing the power of the subconscious mind is something as crucial to a positive mindset as eating healthy food, exercising or surrounding oneself with positive people is.

Our conscious mind accounts only for 10% of it. That leaves 90% of our mind that we are not aware of!

The good news is that there are principles that work in influencing the subconscious so that it aligns itself with our conscious desires.

Those principles are repetition and focus.

What you repeat enough times becomes true.

What you focus on today is what you will get tomorrow.

The ways people use to utilize the power of the subconscious range from positive affirmations for positive thinking, hypnosis, subliminal audio, to NLP and the law of attraction. They all work, but they work in a different way for different people.

I dare you to surround yourself only with positive people, eat healthy and exercise, and also utilize one of the methods to influence the subconscious mind just for 30 days, and then tell me that you will want to get back to the life you lead now.
